Writing daily and building in public can boost your chances to be seen and heard. And that matters.

Not sure who coined it first, but I’ve learned the phrase build in public from Karthik Puvvada. After hearing it for the first time, I saw a pattern on twitter. Impactful people use it. James Clear uses it; Tim Denning uses it. Our cohort at ship30 uses it.

How to increase your luck on the internet is simple. Show up consistently, share your progress, and connect with people.

Share small wins

Let people know what you are building and share small wins.

Luck Surface Area is a formulation by Jason Roberts. He formulates it as the action you take around your passion x the number of people you communicate your passion to

luck = f(doing x telling)

You have no idea who is going to read your story.

Write Daily

The currency of real networking is not greed but generosity.

It pays off to be a giver in social media.

No matter what you do or what you ship, there is value in it. Don’t forget that a motivated person who has never shipped a product or service before might find value on your journey.

Show up daily.

Create a space for meaningful connections

The internet is a vast place. There is a desire for connection at its heart — to the people, to ideas, and to things. If people want to learn about you, be open and approachable. Create a space for dialogue. Tools like cal.com or calendly.com work efficiently.

Tell more people what you’re doing. Then you can do even more!
